Client Success: SCORE Client Start and Structure Their Business Christina and Bryan Theiss met with SCORE Mentors Bill Malleson and Marty Brown in January, 2010 at the Hobe Sound Chamber. Bryan, an EMT and Christina, a water safety instructor wanted to start a business that would provide swim lessons, lifeguard service, outdoor movies as well as open water survival training. The discussion involved the process for setting up a LLC, general information on starting a business, and the proper outline for a business plan. In addition Quick books for accounting and how to improve their marketing plan was discussed. A second meeting took place in April, after a chamber breakfast, to review the business plan, and then they met with Tom Spear to matter understand the regulations regarding Florida Sales Tax. The result is that their business, Swim With Gills, LLC has been a complete success, with so much business that it now has a person employed to schedule events, as well as three new instructors.
